Core principle. A backtest result is treated as the beginning of an investigation, not as proof of a deployable strategy. The workflow is designed to turn noisy trade data into structured evidence that can be reviewed, challenged and retested.

Define the research question and the behaviour or weakness being investigated.

Prepare and scope market, trade and event data so the analysis starts from trustworthy inputs.

Examine execution context, trade-state information and supporting telemetry at decision time.

Analyse cohorts, behaviour and outcomes to identify interpretable patterns and weak areas.

Identify candidate interventions, loss pockets or rule refinements worth testing further.

Test changes in the execution environment to confirm the intervention behaves as intended.
